This Privacy Policy explains how CLAD Ventures LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses information when you use Bloom: Sleep Garden (the “App”). It works alongside our Terms of Service. If you live in Washington or Nevada, please also see our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
1. Who We Are
Bloom: Sleep Garden is operated by CLAD Ventures LLC, an Indiana limited liability company. Questions about this Privacy Policy may be directed to info@clad-ventures.com.
2. Age Requirement
The App is intended for people who are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian’s permission (see our Terms of Service). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, please contact us at info@clad-ventures.com.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information That Stays on Your iPhone
You can use Bloom without an account. Your garden (its plants, tiles, fences, seeds, petals, water and animals), the sleep information Bloom reads from Apple Health, your Bloom Scores and sleep insights, your alarms, a log of when you went to bed with Goodnight, the bedside clock or sleep sounds, your approximate location and your app preferences are stored only in the App’s storage on your iPhone. We don’t receive them, except for what Sections 3.2, 3.5 and 3.8 describe.
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, Apple’s backup includes the App’s storage, as it does for other apps. Apple keeps those backups for you, and we can’t see them. Bloom’s morning reminder, Home Screen widgets and StandBy clock can show last night’s sleep or your next alarm on your iPhone’s screen, and Bloom’s alarm can show on the Lock Screen as a Live Activity. You can turn the reminder off in the App and remove the widgets at any time.
If you save a picture of your garden, Bloom adds it to your Photos. It asks only for permission to add photos and never sees the photos already there.
3.2 Health Data (Apple HealthKit)
If you give permission, the App reads sleep data from Apple Health: time in bed and time asleep, including sleep stages and time awake, and which app or device recorded it (for example your Apple Watch), for up to the last 90 days. Bloom reads nothing else from Apple Health and never writes anything to it.
If you don’t use a sleep tracker, Bloom can use the time in bed your iPhone saves to Apple Health when its sleep schedule is on. It counts that time, less 45 minutes and up to 10 hours, as an estimate of your sleep. Sleep or time in bed typed into Apple Health by hand doesn’t count.
Bloom uses this data on your iPhone to grow your garden, score your nights and show your sleep insights. Your nights themselves (their times, lengths, stages and scores) are never sent to our servers, never shown to your friends, and never used for advertising or marketing, consistent with Apple’s HealthKit requirements.
Two things Bloom works out from your sleep do leave your iPhone:
- Your streak: how many nights in a row you have slept at least 4 hours (Dew Shields and Bloom Plus can carry it over a missed night), and your longest streak. If you have a Bloom account and turn on My streak, they are stored with your garden’s shared copy and shown to your friends. My streak is off until you turn it on, and turning it off deletes your streak from our servers (Section 3.5).
- An anonymous note that a night arrived and the kind of tracker it came from, for example an Apple Watch or your iPhone’s time in bed, unless you turn anonymous usage off (Section 3.8).
If you share a picture of your garden, it shows your streak, and your average sleep and best score too if you choose Add my sleep. It goes wherever you send it. You can turn off Bloom’s access to Apple Health at any time in the Health app or in iPhone Settings.
3.3 Approximate Location
If you allow it, the App uses your approximate (reduced-accuracy) location, rounded to about 10 km, on your iPhone to match your garden’s sky to your local sunrise and sunset. It is never sent to us or anyone else. If you don’t allow location, Bloom uses your time zone instead.
3.4 Account Information (Optional)
Friends features need a Bloom account.
- Sign in with Apple: we receive an account identifier, your email address (this may be a private relay address) and your name if you choose to share it.
- Sign in with Google: we receive an account identifier, your email address, your name and a link to your Google profile picture. We don’t use the picture.
- Email and password: only accounts we set up ourselves, such as the one for Apple’s App Review, sign in with an email address and password; the App can’t create one. Our provider stores the email address and a securely hashed password; we never see the password itself.
We create a profile with a username (made up for you, which you can change once every 30 days) and a display name, which starts as the name you shared with Apple or Google and which you can change. Usernames and display names are checked against a list of words that aren’t allowed. We also store your time zone, so that daily gifts start fresh at your midnight.
3.5 Friends Features
When you are signed in, we store:
- Your friends, friend requests, invite codes, and anyone you block or report, with the reason you give. A report also keeps the reported person’s names as they were then, and we email it to ourselves to review (Section 7).
- Gifts you send and receive. A gift is a drop of water and a petal for a friend’s garden.
- Flowers you water in friends’ gardens: which flower and the day. These are deleted 30 days after your friend collects the water, or 30 days after you water if they never do.
- A copy of your garden’s layout (its tiles, plants and how far they have grown, fences, trees and number of blooms, and the garden scene you’ve chosen), your current and longest streak while My streak is on (Section 3.2), and when the copy was last updated. Bloom refreshes this copy while you use the App, so friends visit your garden as it is on your iPhone.
- Your choices in Settings → Friends → What friends see: My garden, My streak and Find me by username.
- Notifications about friend activity, such as a new friend request or a gift.
The copy of your garden is stored while you are signed in, even if My garden is off; that switch decides whether your friends can see it. Your streak is stored only while My streak is on, and deleted from our servers when you turn it off.
3.6 Purchases
Bloom Plus (a subscription), the animals’ looks and garden scenes are sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment, and we never receive your payment details. The App checks with Apple on your iPhone which purchases you own. Apple also sends our servers a record of each purchase, renewal, cancellation and refund: the product, its price and currency, the App Store’s country, the dates and Apple’s transaction number. These records don’t include your name, email, Apple Account or account with us, we don’t link them to you, and we use them to keep track of sales. An anonymous usage note (Section 3.8) may record where in the App a purchase began and whether it was completed, without linking it to you. To manage or cancel Bloom Plus, use your App Store account settings.
3.7 Technical Information
When the App contacts our servers, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, the time of the request and the App’s version. Some requests don’t involve an account at all: checking whether your version of the App is still supported, and fetching news, shop updates, seasonal events and community goals. These send only the App’s version and platform.
3.8 Anonymous Usage
Unless you turn it off (Settings → Help → Share anonymous usage), the App sends us short, anonymous notes about how it is used:
- that the App was opened, a menu was opened (which one, and for the Bloom Plus page, what opened it), or a first seed was dug up, planted or watered;
- once for each day the App was used, that day’s totals: how many seeds were planted, how many times plants were watered and how many flowers bloomed, and how many tiles and what level the garden has (never which flowers or where they are);
- that onboarding finished, and whether Apple Health was connected;
- that a night of sleep arrived and the kind of tracker it came from (for example Apple Watch, Oura, iPhone or your iPhone’s time in bed), never what the night contained, and that the first morning card was shown;
- that a purchase was started, completed or failed (the product, where in the App it began, and the error if it failed); and
- that a friend was added, or that syncing failed (which part, and an error code).
Each note carries a random number made on your iPhone for this install, the App’s version, whether it came from the App Store or TestFlight, how many days ago it was installed, and when the note was made. The notes never include your sleep records, which flowers or things are in your garden or where, your name, username, email, account, location or advertising identifier, and we don’t link them to your account. Like any request to our servers, our hosting provider’s logs record your IP address (Section 3.7), but the notes themselves don’t store it. Deleting the App resets the random number (restoring a backup of your iPhone may keep it).
We use the notes to see where people get stuck, to fix problems, and to count nights towards community goals when we run one. We delete them after 400 days.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide, operate and maintain the App and its features.
- Grow your garden and show your sleep insights, on your iPhone.
- Let you add friends, visit each other’s gardens, send gifts and water each other’s flowers.
- Show your streak to your friends, if you turn on My streak.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Prevent abuse, including acting on blocks and reports.
- Tell you when a newer version of the App is needed, and share news and seasonal events.
- See where people get stuck and count community goals, from anonymous notes you can turn off.
- Show reminders and alarms you set, which are scheduled on your iPhone.
- Respond to support requests or inquiries.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information or share it for targeted advertising.
5. Where Your Data Is Stored and for How Long
Your garden and your sleep information are stored on your iPhone. If you delete the App, they are deleted with it, and we cannot recover them.
Account and Friends data is stored with Supabase on Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-east-2, Ohio). If you are located outside the United States, including in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, this data will be transferred to and processed in the United States. We keep it while your account exists, except waterings, which we delete after about 30 days (Section 3.5). When you delete your account, we delete it as Section 6 describes.
Anonymous usage notes are stored in the same place and deleted after 400 days. Apple’s purchase records (Section 3.6) are stored there too and kept for our accounts. Our hosting provider keeps its request logs for 7 days, for security and troubleshooting. It also keeps a daily backup of the database for 7 days, so information you delete can remain in a backup for up to 7 days before it is overwritten.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account in the App: Settings → Friends → your name → Delete account. This removes your profile, friends, friend requests, blocks, gifts, waterings, notifications, your garden’s shared copy and streak, and your settings from our servers, subject to any retention required by law. If you signed in with Apple, you can also stop using your Apple Account with Bloom in iPhone Settings. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel Bloom Plus; cancel it in your App Store account settings.
A few things are not removed:
- reports you made about other people stay, without your name, so we can act on them;
- anonymous usage notes, which aren’t linked to your account, stay until they are deleted after 400 days;
- Apple’s purchase records, which aren’t linked to you or your account, stay for our accounts; and
- our hosting provider’s request logs and database backups stay until they expire, after 7 days.
Your garden and sleep information on your iPhone stay until you delete the App.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures, including encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS), database access rules that limit what each account can reach, and the iPhone Keychain for your sign-in on your device. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
9. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us data, contact us at info@clad-ventures.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Choices and Rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- turn off Apple Health or location access in iPhone Settings;
- choose what friends see, and whether people can find you, in Settings → Friends → What friends see;
- turn off anonymous usage notes in Settings → Help → Share anonymous usage;
- change your display name (and your username once every 30 days), and delete your account, in the App; and
- ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing info@clad-ventures.com.
We will respond within 30 days, or within 45 days where a law gives us that long. We may need to confirm that the account is yours, and we won’t treat you differently for using these rights. If we decline a request, you can ask us to reconsider by replying to our answer. If you still disagree, you can contact your state attorney general or your data protection authority.
US state privacy laws. We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects. Residents of Washington and Nevada have additional rights over consumer health data, described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Do Not Track. Bloom does not track you across apps or websites, so it works the same way whether or not your browser or device sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

The Short Version
Your nights (their times, lengths, stages and scores) and your garden stay on your iPhone. Two things worked out from your sleep leave it: your streak, only if you choose to share it with friends, and anonymous notes that a night arrived, which you can turn off. An account is only needed for Friends features, and it holds your profile, your friends, the gifts you trade and a copy of your garden so friends can visit. We don’t advertise, track you or sell your data.
